Resentment and envy are two common emotions that many people experience at some point in their lives. These emotions can be difficult to deal with, and they can have a negative impact on our relationships and overall well-being. Resentment is a feeling of bitterness or anger towards someone or something. It often arises when we feel that we have been wronged or treated unfairly. When we hold on to resentment, it can consume us and prevent us from moving forward. It can also lead to negative behaviors, such as lashing out at the person or thing we resent. Envy, on the other hand, is a feeling of dissatisfaction or longing for something that someone else has. This could be something tangible, like a possession, or something intangible, like a skill or talent. Envy can drive us to compare … [Read more...]
The Benefits of Self-Acceptance: How It Differs from Self Love
Self-acceptance and self-love are two closely related concepts, but they are not the same thing. Self-acceptance is the ability to recognize and accept yourself as you are, without trying to change or improve yourself to meet some external standard. This means accepting all aspects of yourself, including your flaws and limitations, as well as your strengths and talents. On the other hand, self-love is the act of valuing and caring for yourself. It involves treating yourself with kindness and respect and making choices that are in your own best interest. Self-love is often thought of as a feeling, but it's also a behavior that involves taking care of your physical, emotional, and mental well-being. While self-love is an important part of self-acceptance, it's not a requirement. You can … [Read more...]
Are you ready to be who you are truly capable of being?
Do you ever find yourself longing for more? Do you know you were meant for greatness but feel stuck? Are you waiting to check the next thing off the list (pay off one more bill, get one more client, write a book…etc.) before you allow yourself to live your dream? My question to you, “How long are you going to stay stuck in this holding pattern?” The reality is, there will always be another thing. The unknown is just that, unknown. Be willing to grow. Get a little uncomfortable because all the magic happens outside your comfort zone. When you catch yourself falling into the same old pattern, consider these 3 steps… Stop the voice in your head that’s telling you why you can’t have what you desire. Remember how you want to feel – a feeling is far more powerful than material … [Read more...]
Do you desire more freedom around how you spend your time?
Mom, ma, mama, MOM! Psst…mom (said in a whisper) … I’m up. For the last six years of my life that has been my alarm clock. When we moved, I actually tossed my old bedside clock making more room for books that I’ve yet to read. Kids are great – they have so much to teach us. Their curiosity is contagious, and the love they make you feel is immeasurable. But they’re exhausting. I mean really f’ing exhausting. Can you relate? I get tired. Cranky. Grumpy. Crabby. I crave more time away from it all – the kids, the cleaning, the laundry, the responsibilities, the never-ending feeding. I just need to get away. What I know for sure about myself is that I thrive best as a woman when I put my needs first – yoga, meditation, prayer, time with friends, and time alone. It allows me to be more … [Read more...]
[Audio] Confused on how to price your services? Listen to this…
While scrolling through a Facebook group that I am in for business women, I came across a post, “I am so mad at myself! I completely underpriced my work AGAIN!” The post received 55 comments from 19 different women and 17 likes in a group that has only 87 members. Some expressing support. Some advice. But many said been there, done (or are doing) that. And it’s no surprise. Most women struggle with money blocks and charging their worth. Especially when it comes to building or starting a business when you feel you might not have enough experience. Here are some of the things I hear women entrepreneurs say about money and fees… I’m just not sure who can afford to pay that much. I don’t want to scare off a potential client because my fees are too high. I don’t know that I’m … [Read more...]

Is their grass greener?
A few years ago I was introduced to the paradigm: the grass is greenest where you water it. Meaning that if you’re so focused on what others have and come from a place of jealousy and envy, it’s difficult to see and grow the beauty and abundance in your life. I have kept a journal for most of my life. It started as a diary when I was 10 or so, maybe even younger. It was electric blue, had Snoopy and Charlie Brown on the cover, and it actually locked! You know, back in those days, I couldn’t afford to have one of my sisters read my deepest, darkest secrets. Today, I have multiple journals sitting around my home, one on each floor, in my purse and now I even have a few apps on my iPhone. I use them very differently today than I did 10 years ago. I went from writing about all the bad … [Read more...]
Are you living the dream? If not, try this…
Working long hours, living behind a laptop, handling every aspect of your business is hardly the dream that most business owners envision when they make the choice to start a business. Without careful thought and planning, it’s exactly where you can end up. To establish a successful balance of work and business, you must understand exactly why you desire the balance and what that balance looks like for you. Contemplate and then answer in writing the following questions: 1. Do I really want to own my own business? Why? Be specific? 2. What do I expect from my business? 3. What would my ideal work-life balance look like? 4. How do I want to feel each day? What do I desire most? This clarity exercise will help you to determine if running your business, … [Read more...]
Are you courageous enough?
Consider for a moment what you desire most in your life or for your business. Really sit with the curiosity of how you would like to change your current experience. Would you like to experience less stress? Do you desire freedom from your destructive thoughts? Would you explore different work? Do you desire more abundance, more peace, more joy, more love? Would you like to deepen your relationships? Do you desire to be present and focused? Here’s what I know for sure… it’s simply a matter of choice. Just along side of our suffering, pain, and struggle sits the options of ease, joy, peace, love, and gratitude. While it’s simply a matter of choice, I’ve experienced firsthand, that it’s not always easy. We are attached to our thinking. We are attached to our … [Read more...]
What do you do when you just want to quit?
Recently while chatting with a friend, she shared how stressed, confused and overwhelmed she was about an upcoming talk and her son’s first birthday party. Paired with lack of sleep, it’s no wonder she was feeling beaten. She asked me, “How do you keep moving forward?” She shared that sometimes she just wished she didn’t want it (to build a business) so badly. At times she wished she would be okay with the status quo - just like everyone else. I started to think more about it after hanging up. What does pull me forward? How do I keep going? What drives me when I’m down? Last year I started a Facebook group, No Matter What: Create a Business and Lifestyle You Love. This is a space for women who crave support in creating a business that allows them to do the work … [Read more...]
