I have to admit lately I’ve been in a little funk. I chose to sit in the funky space for a couple weeks to really learn and discover what it was about and where it came from, so I can be sure that when it happens again I’ll bounce back faster.
This weekend I watched Pastor Joel Osteen on Oprah’s Life Class share how powerful our “I am” statements can be. They have the power to bring us what we do or don’t want. In that moment I realized I was creating my turmoil and stress. More importantly, I had the power to change it and to do it quickly.
He says, “What follows I am will come looking for you.” WOW, that is powerful. Most of us are walking around saying….
I am fat.
I am broke.
I am tired.
I am lonely.
I am ugly.
I am not good enough.
You get the picture, so I won’t run on with that list because today I’m challenging you to write a new list.
Imagine if you walk through each day saying…
I am beautiful.
I am healthy.
I am powerful.
I am vibrant.
I am whole.
I am inspired.
I am creative.
I am fit.
I am loved.
I am valued.
I am confident.
I am free.
I am engaged.
I am blessed.
I am grateful.
I am LIVING MY DREAM!
It’s only a matter of time before this becomes your belief and your reality.
I invite you to rewrite your thoughts and change your life. Follow these simple steps:
1. Become aware. Start to notice what you’re currently saying to yourself and catch it.
2. Dream. Write a long list of all that you desire. Try to focus on feelings and emotions as they are far more powerful than materialistic items.
3. When you hear a negative thought, stop and decide to change it. Begin to say to yourself the long list of “I am” statements that describe the desired reality.
With these simple changes, you will be living a more fulfilled life and be an example to your family, your community and the world by living your dream and experiencing genuine happiness.
Leave a comment below to share your new “I am” statement.
And, as always, thank you for reading and contributing to this community.
