I recently saw a post by Rachel Ski (I don’t know her full last name) of Healthy-Chicks.com. She celebrated her birthday earlier this month and decided to reflect on 27 things she learned by her 27th birthday. As I celebrate my life today, I thought I’d share 34 random thoughts…
1. I wish I lived by water where I could watch whales all day long.
2. I’m far more spiritual than I ever gave myself credit for.
3. I love rollercoasters.
4. The universe has my back. I’m blessed – even in my darkest moments the universe held me gently in its arms and sent me exactly what my heart desired.
5. I’m most successful at accomplishing my goals when I have support and accountability.
6. My hair has changed A LOT since having children.
7. Connection with humans is like oxygen, we will die without it. Just as we need water, oxygen and food to thrive, we also need genuine human connections. We need to share and be heard with compassion. We need to feel normal and loved. We need to feel valued – just as we are today without the need to change.
8. I enjoy being alone in nature – preferably by water.
9. When I eat whole foods that are minimally processed and mostly plants, I feel my best.
10. Praying is asking for what I desire; while meditation is listening for the universe to guide me.
11. I’m sure I’ll miss it one day, but right now I don’t like it when both kids are hanging on me and the dog wants to play and my husband can’t find something in the frig. In these moments I think – how did this become my life?
12. Every day is a chance to start over; there is no need to wait for a new year or the prefect moment.
13. I don’t like to work out…at all.
14. I’m in love with my iPhone.
15. I’m powerful beyond measure.
16. Life was designed to be effortless.
17. Seven years in and I can lovingly say my man is the only person I’d want by my side.
18. Love can heal all pain.
19. I always fear that I will fart during yoga class.
20. Being uncomfortable is where the magic happens.
21. In every moment I have a choice.
22. I really like chocolate … the good kind.
23. Motherhood is hard both physically and emotionally.
24. One of the fastest ways to learn about who you are is to start a business.
25. I really like to sleep.
26. It takes a tribe to raise a family. I’m blessed that all our family is local and willing to help.
27. I’m a curious learner – I can’t get enough.
28. I must let go of perfection to live in peace.
29. I love snail mail and get excited every time the postman comes.
30. Saturdays were meant for sleeping in, a memo my children did not receive.
31. I can’t dream big enough for what the universe has in store for me.
32. Give me paper and a pen, plop me in nature and I’m a happy girl.
33. If you see my car parked outside of an “all you can eat” crab special, keep driving. There isn’t enough for both of us.
34. While my life today is different than I thought it would be, I’m celebrating each moment with genuine joy and gratitude.
I’d love to hear what you may have been surprised to read or a few things about yourself that you’d like to share. Maybe you might try to write your own list of random thoughts or life lessons you’ve gathered along the way. I’d love to hear from you. Post your comment below.
Much love,
